1966 Ford Mustang

I am getting too old to take care of her anymore. I purchased this car in 1966, the year I graduated from College. I have been the only owner she has ever had. She has been a go-to-work car all of her life  (except for a brief successful courtship run from Arkansas to  Mississippi in 1968. The object of my affection turned out to own a 66  Mustang also... same color but that is another story). I retired in  2006 and now I use it mostly to go to the airport to teach flying. She  is all original everywhere except for the engine compartment. She now  has an aluminum radiator with an electric fan which resolved the over  heating problem I experienced in 100 deg stop and go traffic. I replaced the old noisy piston air conditioning compressor with a more efficient rotary compressor. It now cools icy cold, better than it did new. I  replaced the old stock carburetor with a two barrel Holly. It has a new design high torque starter which starts the car in about one second of  cranking. She has a new design high current alternator that powers  everything with enough power to make the headlights look white hot. The power steering is all new, not overhauled, and now provides one finger  turning even when stationary. She has been painted three times, three  engines (289s) and the body was completely restored from the wheels up  in mid 2008 with some additional paint touch-up in early 2011 and again in late 2012.

I have  spared no expense. The car is solid, looks great, runs great and drives just like it did right off the assembly line. Like a good parent  taking care of the family, she has always been to the best doctors and  every sniffle has been tended to. And like a parent who has tirelessly  done their best, there comes a time for the kids to leave home and make  their own way in the world.
